French delegation meets Rangasamy

Midi-Pyrenees region is home to number of SMEs

With investors from the Midi-Pyrénées region of France slated to visit Puducherry later this year, a delegation led by Claude Gaits, vice-president, Economic and International Development, Midi-Pyrenees region, met the Chief Minister N. Rangasamy recently.

Preliminary visit

“We discussed about the possibility of cooperation in not just the economic field, but cultural, educational and health fields as well. This is a preliminary visit prior to the official mission visit by Martin Malvy, President of the Council of the Midi-Pyrénées region, with a team of investors,” said Mr. Gaits.

“We are looking at a mutually beneficial cooperation. With Puducherry, it is easier because of our long tradition in cooperation,” he added. The delegation comprised of Marie-Odile Delcamp, Jean-Marc Dessapt, Corinne Lamarque and Philippe Baylet. Midi-Pyrenees region is home to the Airbus, a large number of universities, and expertise in small and medium enterprises and the education sector, they said.

sThey are also visiting Chennai and Bengaluru. In Puducherry, the delegation has visited Alliance Francaise, NGOs Sharana, Voluntariat and Catamaran, and Jipmer.
