Exhibition on wheels to raise awareness on climate change

A mobile science exhibition will arrive at the city railway station today

‘Science Express,’ a mobile exhibition focusing on climate change, will arrive at Puducherry railway station on Thursday.

Billed as a treasure trove of knowledge for children and elders alike, the “Science Express,” which features various aspects of climate change impact, including nature conservation, advancements in biotechnology applications and international climate change negotiations, will be on display at the railway station here on Thursday and Friday.

P.U.K. Reddy, Divisional Railway Manager, Tiruchi Division, will participate in the launch ceremony at 10 a.m.

The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The train will be stationed on platform number 3. Entry is free.

The Ministry of Railways is running this 9th phase of the science exhibition, in co-ordination with Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, Wildlife Institute of India and Vikram Sarabhai Community Centre.

1.45 lakh km covered

The mobile exhibition has covered 1,45,000 km across the country during the previous eight phases.

The show has attracted more than 1.65 crore visitors, making it perhaps the most visited science exhibition of its kind in the world yet.
