‘Nursing department a reason for Jipmer’s success in delivering holistic healthcare’

Jipmer paid tributes to nursing professionals during the ‘International Nurses Day celebrations held recently under the auspices of the Department of Nursing.

S.C. Parija, Director of Jipmer, in his keynote address, praised nurses for their services saying that they have a great responsibility to improving the health of the population and contributing to the achievement of sustainable development goals. He also stated that the efficient services provided by the nursing department were one of the reasons for Jipmer’s success in delivering holistic healthcare to the vulnerable sections of the population.

Vasantha Ponnambalam, CNO of Jipmer, delivered the Nightingale Pledge after Santhi Thamilmani, Superintendent of Nursing, welcomed the gathering.

The theme of the International Council of Nurses for the year 2017 was — Nurses: A Voice to Lead Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Sankareswari, Nursing Superintendent of Jipmer Hospital, J.Ambrose, Deputy Medical Superintendent, and Katherin, nursing officer, participated.
