The National Electoral Rolls Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP) will be launched in the Union Territory from March 9.

The NERPAP would continue till July 31 this year and the final error-free rolls would be ready by August 15, Chief Electoral Officer T. Sreekanth said here on Friday.

Addressing a press conference, he said that the programme decided by the Election Commission of India (ECI) was launched with the objective of bringing an error-free and authentic electoral roll in the country. Voters with multiple registrations in the electoral rolls can come forward to delete their names.

Voters can link their Aadhaar number directly on the National Voters Service Portal-http://nvsp.in. They can also send SMS to 51969 or dial toll free number 1950. Electors can make corrections when officials are on a door-to-door survey.

A nation-wide special camp will be organised at all the polling booths in the UT on April 12 for collection of Aadhaar data, correction of entries or replacement of photograph in EPIC, he added.
