Four fishermen who were stranded at mid sea after their mechanised fishing boat developed a technical snag were rescued by the Coastal security police on Wednesday.
Police sources said Sethumadhavan, Selvanathan, Dharmalingam and Sekar of Veerampattinam had set out for fishing in a mechanised boat when their boat developed a technical snag around 6 nautical miles off the Puducherry coast.
The fishermen alerted the Coastal security police who rescued them.
As repair was ruled out the boat was towed back to the Thengaithittu fishing harbour along with the crew.
