Former Union Minister for State V. Narayanasamy has alleged that there was no proper environment for entrepreneurs to run their business in Puducherry in the last five years of AINRC rule.
Speaking at an election campaign seeking support of DMK candidate Suresh at Mudaliarpet, he said Puducherry had not witnessed any industrial development in the last five years.
On there other hand, industries that were started during the previous Congress regime had been closed.

The government-owned AFT mills, which were functioning with profit during the previous Congress regime, suffered a setback after the AINRC came to power. The prestigious undertaking started crumbling like a pack of cards and one unit after the other was closed landing workers in disarray.
In a veiled reference to AINRC candidate V. Bhalan, Mr. Narayanasamy said that the loss-making unit was, however, having a non-official chairman appointed by the Chief Minister.
The mill’s chairman was drawing a salary of Rs.1 lakh eating into the meagre financial sources of the mill and the government had not taken any step to improve the lot of workers.

The former Union Minister also scoffed at Chief Minister N. Rangasamy performing rituals with superstitious beliefs that it would help him retain power in the elections.
The Congress-DMK combine was poised to win as many as 25 seats in the elections, he claimed.
