Major reshuffle of IAS, IPS officers

In a major administrative revamp, the Union Territory government has changed the District Collectors of Puducherry and Karaikal and appointed three new Senior Superintendents of Police.

Chief Secretary Manoj Parida also issued a notification on the re-allocation of subjects allotted to senior IAS and IPS officials following approval from the Lieutenant Governor. As part of the reshuffle, P. Jawahar, the incumbent District Collector of Puducherry, has been shifted and posted as Local Administration Secretary. He was brought in as District Collector last April by the Election Commission when the model code of conduct was in force. Karaikal District Collector Dr. Satyendra Singh Durswat is transferred and posted as District Collector of Puducherry in his place. P. Parthiban has been posted as District Collector of Karaikal.

B.R. Babu has been allocated health in addition to subjects he held earlier. G. Theva Neethi Dhas continues as Secretary to Lieutenant Governor while other subjects he held have been reallocated to others.

There is no change in the subjects held by Chief Secretary Mr. Parida and Finance Secretary V. Candavelou.

In the police department, Rajiv Ranjan has been posted as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)-Law and Order (Puducherry), while the incumbent V.J. Chandran has been shifted to Karaikal. A.K. Gawas, SSP Karaikal, has been posted as SSP (Headquarters). In all, 12 police superintendents have been transferred.
