Golden Peacock Award conferred on NLC

Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) has been conferred the Golden Peacock Award 2016 in appreciation of its adoption of environment-friendly technologies.

The award, instituted by the Institute of Directors, New Delhi, for recognising achievements in creating sustainable development, environment and CSR, was presented recently at the 18th World Congress on Environment Management” hosted by the Institute and World Environment Foundation at New Delhi. Justice Arjit Pasayat, co-chairman, Institute of Directors and former Judge of Supreme Court, handed over the award to S.A.F. Khalid, Executive Director (Mines) and T. Kannadasan, CGM (Geology) of the NLC.

Lt. General J.S. Ahluwalia, the President of the Institute of Directors; Alphonsus Stoelinga, Ambassador of the Netherlands to India, Bhutan and Nepal; Alexandre Ziegler, Ambassador of France to India; and Tomasz Kozlowski, Ambassador of European Union to India, participated in the function.

The awards jury was chaired by Justice M.N. Venkatachalaiah, former Chief Justice of Supreme Court.
