Foundation course begins at JIPMER

The new MBBS batch (2016-17) at Jipmer commenced a six-week foundation course on Friday.

The course will be a package of communication skills, language orientation classes, interpersonal skills and it will be a combined one for both students of Puducherry and Karaikal campuses.

Dr. Subhash Chandra Parija, Director, Jipmer, inaugurated the foundation course formally today at a function attended by students and their parents.

Dr. S. Mahadevan, Dean (Academics), Dr. J. Balachander, Medical Superintendent, Dr. R.P. Swaminathan, Faculty (Academics), Dr. Sridhar, Coordinator-Jipmer-Karaikal and Dr. Kadambari, Registrar, will be coordinating the six-week foundation course.

Senior professors and various field experts will conduct the sessions for students.

Jipmer held its entrance examination for admission to its MBBS course July 2016 session on June 5 across India at 270 test venues spread in 75 cities across the country. The number of seats to be filled for MBBS course is 200 for the year 2016 with 150 students selected for Jipmer campus at Puducherry and the 50 seats for the new Karaikal campus.
