It was a festive mood on the Assembly premises. The Assembly building was spruced up to receive the new Ministers. Crackers were burst near Bharathi Park when the Chief Minister and other Cabinet Ministers took oath.

While the Ministers were sworn in at Gandhi Thidal, special pujas invoking Lord Vinayaka were performed in the offices of the Cabinet Ministers at the Assembly.

After taking charge, Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy walked from the Gandhi Thidal to the Assembly flanked by his supporters.

A cultural team from Mangalam constituency led by a Congress party cadre Raghupathy entertained the public outside the Assembly when the Ministers were taking charge. People visiting the Government General Hospital also gathered around the team to see them perform.

Not concerned over the two-wheelers parked on either side of the road, the party cadres burst crackers.

Bharathi Park, opposite the Assembly, was being decorated with serial lights. By Monday evening, even the heritage building was decked up to celebrate the arrival of new Ministers.
