The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), the nodal agency for admissions to government quota seats in professional courses in the Union Territory, on Monday released the rank list for medical, engineering and B. Pharm courses for the academic year 2015-16.
Releasing the rank list at his chamber in the Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy announced that the first phase of counselling for admission to MBBS and BDS courses would commence from June 24. The counselling for engineering courses will begin on July 2.

Three girls from Mahe emerged top scorers in the rank list for MBBS and BDS courses.
Sneha Prakash, from Nalluthara in Mahe enclave of the Union Territory topped the merit list by scoring 200 marks. K. Gopika from Pallur and Aiswaraya M. Prasad from East Pallur bagged the second and third ranks respectively with 199.666 and 199.333 marks.
The top three ranks in the engineering stream were bagged by C. Rakesh of Saram in Puducherry, K. Gopika of Pallur and S. Praveen Raj of Oulgaret in Puducherry while the first three ranks in B. Pharm degree courses were bagged by K.T. Theertha of Mahe, R. Nandhini of Yanam and V.M. Vaishnav of Pallur.

R.Keerthana of Thilaspet, S. Samyuktha of Delarshpet and Devika Premanand of Mahe were the first-three top scorers in the rank list for BA LLB- five years integrated courses which was added for counselling from the current academic year.
Of the total of 4,502 candidates who applied for biology-based courses, 4,391 were eligible while 4,697 of the 4612 candidates who applied for engineering courses qualified. Of the 2,101 candidates who applied for B. Pharm degree courses 2,062 students were found eligible.
The number of applications received towards biology based courses has been decreased to 1.42 per cent for the current academic year and the total number of applications received for the admission to engineering course has been decreased to 10.73 per cent..
