9,564 candidates sit for Jipmer entrance test

Nearly 9,564 candidates attended the entrance examination for 15 seats in MD/MS course in Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (Jipmer) on Sunday. As many as 12,852 candidates had applied for this seat.

A senior official of Jipmer said the examination was held in eight cities in 29 venues (including seven venues in Puducherry). Jipmer conducted entrance examination for the admission of MD/MS and D.M/M.Ch/PDF courses July 2017 session. It was held between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Entrance examination for D.M/M.Ch was held from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. in two cities in three test venues (including two venues in Puducherry). Of the 1,494 candidates who had applied for DM/MCh, nearly 1,075 candidates wrote the examination for 19 seats. The results will be declared on or before May 31 for all the courses.

The counselling for MD/MS and DM/M.Ch/PDF is scheduled on June 14 and June 9 respectively. The classes for all the courses will begin from July 3.

The examination centres in Puducherry included Manakular Vinayagar Institute of Technology, Kalitheerthalkuppam, Sri Manakular Vinayagar Engineering College, Madagadipet, Christ College of Engineering and Technology Moolakulam, Achariya Arts and Science College, Uruvaiyar, Krishnasamy College of Engineering and Technology, S.Kumarapuram, Cuddalore and Krishnasamy College of Science Arts and Management for Women, Nellikuppam, Cuddalore and Alpha Engineering College in Puducherry.
