Participating in an interactive session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mr. Sinha said that a Flavour and Fragrance Development Centre (FFDC) would be coming up in Karaikal to produce fragrance oil and flavours from Lemon Grass.

The Ministry already has a similar facility in operation in Uttar Pradesh.

He urged the Puducherry government to allot 5 acres of land at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Puducherry for establishment of an Extension Centre of FFDC here for benefit of people in and around the city. Puducherry would be ideal for the Extension Centre due to the heritage portion of the city and the sense of beauty, flavour and fragrance here.
