Urging the administration to implement the Supreme Court order to close the 153 Tasmac shops functioning near highways and not to relocate the shops to residential areas, the Pattali Makkal Katchi staged a protest in front of Collectorate here on Wednesday.

State deputy general secretary Pon. Ramesh led the protest.

He said that based on the apex courts order 153 shops needed to be closed in the district.

Officials were trying to re-locate them to residential areas despite stiff opposition.
