The Bombay High Court on Tuesday reiterated its stand that custodial deaths will not be tolerated in the State.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice V M Kanade and Justice Revati Mohite-Dere told the State government to take strict action and prompt decision to stop custodial deaths or face action.
The court was informed that two custodial deaths had taken place in October and November and that details of the same were not available.

The bench asked the State to find out all the details of these cases and went on to say that any policeman responsible for a custodial death should be immediately suspended. This will act as a deterrent, said the court.
The court was told that the CBI has sought sanction from the State to prosecute police officers responsible for custodial deaths.
The advocate representing the State said that the finance department has sanctioned Rs 65 lakhs for CCTVs in police stations and that 25 police stations already have these cameras in every corner.
However, the court was told that only five cameras were put in police stations and not in every corner as directed to the State. The matter is adjourned till January 8.
The HC asked what charges were the accused facing when they died in custody.
It had earlier pointed out that though officers are prosecuted in such cases, they are generally acquitted.
The State informed the HC that details to two recent custody deaths were not available
