Veeru Devgan dies of cardiac arrest aged 85
Stunt director cremated in Vile Parle
Veteran stunt director and filmmaker Veeru Devgan (85) died of a cardiac arrest on Monday. He was admitted to Surya Hospital in Santacruz after complaining of breathlessness.
The final rites were performed by his son and actor Ajay Devgn, at Vile Parle crematorium on Monday evening. Actors Sanjay Mishra and Mukesh Tiwari were among first to arrive followed by Vatsal Sheth, Jimmy Shergill, Tusshar Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Vindu Dara Singh, Raza Murad and Satish Kaushik. “He was the most influential person in my life and I will miss him,” said Mr. Mishra.
Actor Arjun Kapoor arrived with his father and producer Boney Kapoor. Actor Anil Kapoor was joined by Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan, who arrived at the funeral with her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur.
Inder Kumar, Sharad Kelkar, Mukesh Tiwari, Prakash Jha, Shekhar Kapur, Ranjit Singh as well as Pankaj Dheer and his son Nikitin Dheer were present.
Actors Shah Rukh Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Sanjay Dutt and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan paid a visit to the Juhu residence of the late stunt director to offer their condolences.
