Speeding trailer rams into bike in Rabale; BMW hits autorickshaw in Vashi

Three people were killed and one injured in two separate accidents reported in the early hours of Friday.

In the first incident, Pradeep Bhivaji Ingale (34) and Vijay Ukhaji More (33) were crushed to death by a trailer at 1 a.m while they were going from Digha to Belapur on a bike. Mr. More, a history-sheeter and resident of Digha, was driving the bike, while Mr. Ingale, a resident of Airoli, was riding pillion when the speeding trailer rammed into it opposite the Rabale MIDC police station. The duo was taken to a private hospital in Rabale which referred them to the NMMC Hospital in Vashi, where they were declared dead on arrival. “The trailer driver had fled from the spot and we are looking for him,” police inspector Anil Patil, Rabale MIDC police station, said.

In the second incident, Around 2 a.m., 19-year-old Deepak Prasad, an autorickshaw driver from Turbhe, was on his way to Vashi with his friend Babu, when they were hit by a BMW at Arenja Circle. While Babu, who sustained injuries is undergoing treatment at NMMC Hospital, Prasad died on the spot.

The driver of the BMW, identified as Pune-based businessman Ishan Bhat (29), has been booked in an accident case, said the police.
