Cinema:Conversation: Parallels between French and Indian Cinema

Date/Time: March 28, 8:00 pm

Location: The Art Loft

Auteur theory is the idea that one individual is responsible for the entire creative vision and style of a film. This theory came to the forefront of film theory in the late 1950′s when François Truffaut and his colleagues at the Cahiers du Cinéma, starting writing about authorial intent in filmmaking. They attributed this leading role to the director of the film.

With this series, Jeffrey Goldberg will cut across time and space to look at directors and how their work shaped key elements of the filmmaking process.
