Six flesh trade agents were arrested and seven high profile models rescued by Raigad police from a bungalow at Mandwa.
The action followed a tip off received by Raigad police about the racket operating from two bungalows at Kihim and Kankeshwar, near Mandwa in Alibaug. Police laid a trap by approaching an agent as a customer.
“We received information that under the pretext of birthday parties and other celebrations, flesh trade was being operated from these bungalows. Accordingly our team procured contact numbers of two agent from the watchmen. We arranged for two fake customers who contacted the agents on Wednesday. The agents demanded some specific amount, running into lakhs, of which a part payment was made online in two separate accounts,” Raigad Superintendent of Police Anil Paraskar said. The part payment was made after the agents gave the names of some of the models. The two agents were identified as Rakhi Notani and Ranjita Singh alias Renu.

On Thursday night, the agents along with the seven models and their managers arrived at the bungalows. After choosing the models and paying the balance amount, the customers went inside and gave a missed call to the police who were waiting outside the bungalow. “Our team raided the bungalows and seized the money, arrested six people, including staff and managers, and rescued the seven models,” Mr. Paraskar said. The police also found 26 gram cocaine worth ₹2 lakh. Besides Ms. Notani and Ms. Singh, the others arrested have been identified as Raj Kamal, Nilesh Modi, Varun Adalkho, Saeed Amir Razak, Seema Singh, Shruti Gavkar and Arohi Singh.
They were arrested under Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and have been remanded in police custody till July 3.
