Showroom goes up in flames

Mumbai: A fire broke out at a showroom of Laxmi Industrial Estate near Lokhandwala in Andheri (West) on Monday morning. Around 11.41 a.m., two shops inside Ambience Lights and Sounds showroom caught fire. Three fire engines and two jumbo tankers along with an ambulance were sent to the spot. The blaze was brought under control by 1 p.m.

The showroom was involved in the manufacturing of ornamental lights. There were no casualties, though there was damage to the property. “The fire was not major. We are estimating the loss of property. The cause of the fire is being investigated,” Prabhat Rahangdale, chief fire officer, said.
