Mumbai: The MIDC police have initiated investigations into allegations of sexual abuse against the founder of and a teacher with a school in Andheri, made by the parents of a three-year-old student. The founder of the school is a French national and has been summoned for inquiries.

The incident is alleged to have occurred in December last year, but came to light in May. “The parents of the victim, who is a nursery student with the school, had noticed that she had been disturbed and acting different for the last few months. After repeated inquiring, she ultimately told her parents that the founder and another teacher had taken her to the founder’s office and sexually abused her,” said an officer with MIDC police station.

The victim’s parents took her to the police, and an FIR was registered under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act on May 18. “We have asked the founder to come for inquiries. He is in Paris on a tour organised by the school trust,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Navin Reddy, Zone X.
