The Mumbai BJP on Tuesday wrote to State School Education and Cultural Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde requesting him to intervene, and grant 10 grace marks to SSC students after the algebra question paper on Tuesday contained questions worth 10 marks outside the syllabus.
In a letter to Mr Tawde, Niranjan Shetty, Mumbai BJP spokesperson, said an error in the algebra question paper in the ongoing SSC Board examination on Tuesday caused confusion and panic among students after they spotted questions worth 10 marks in the 40-mark question paper were not part of their syllabus.
“Agitated parents started calling the Mumbai BJP office to lodge their protest. The board’s error has caused damage to the prospects of students as this is likely to impact the next papers. Therefore, we request you to direct the SSC Board president to grant 10 grace marks to students in the algebra paper and ensure that such mistakes are not repeated in the future,” Mr Shetty said.

The SSC Board examinations commenced on March 1, with over 17 lakh students from nine divisional board in Pune, Mumbai, Aurangabad, Nashik, Kolhapur, Amravati, Latur and Nagpur appearing.
