Indians get 2 gold, 2 silver medals at Olympiad

Indian students continued their winning streak at Olympiads, with four chemistry students bagging two gold medals and two silver medals at the 48th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO 2016) held in Tbilisi, Georgia, last week, officials from the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) said on Tuesday.

Valay Agarawal from Jaipur and Utkarsh Gupta Guna from Madhya Pradesh won gold medals, while Sharvik Mittal from Bhopal, and Kartik Patekar from Indore bagged silver medals at the Olympiad held from July 23 to August 1. The team was accompanied by team leaders Prof. Arvind A. Natu from IISER, Pune, and Prof. Avinash Kumbhar from Pune University, and two scientific observers, Prof. Anindya Datta from IIT Bombay and Dr. Ankush Gupta from the HBCSE. The entire team was felicitated at HBCSE.
