A day after the Mumbai police claimed to have solved the murder case of a 23-year-old software engineer whose semi-decomposed body was found in Mumbai on January 16, the victim’s family said it was not convinced with the police’s version.
Speaking to The Hindu , the victim’s father said there was no circumstantial evidence against the accused. “There are many loopholes in their theory. My daughter would not have agreed to sit on a stranger’s motorcycle. If robbery was the motive, why didn’t he rob her of her ring and mobile?” he asked.
He also wondered why the police had not been able to recover her clothes or laptop. While the police said that there was CCTV footage which showed the victim and the accused exiting the Lokamanya Tilak Terminus together on January 5 morning, her father said there was no evidence to prove what happened next.
