Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh chief Prakash Ambedkar on Saturday said that more than 75,000 well-off Indian families could migrate out of India along with their wealth because of the Narendra Modi government’s “tyrannical policies”.
Addressing a press conference on the issue of falling rupee, Mr. Ambedkar alleged that the “flight” of well-to-do families to other countries was contributing to the depreciation of the rupee.

“Billions of dollars have gone out of the country. The demand has overrun supply and FDI has stopped. Don’t be surprised if the rupee touches 75 per dollar mark. Its biggest impact will be on the middle class. Inflation affects them directly. I want to alert the Hindu centralised middle class who wants Mr. Modi to come to power again,” Mr. Ambedkar said to reporters.
‘Atmosphere of terror’
“The government’s tyrannical policies are responsible for this. The raids, curbing intellectual freedom in the name of Maoism, and misuse of central agencies have created an atmosphere of terror, causing migration of wealth out of the country,” he said.

To a question on ‘urban Naxals’ he said, “Guerrilla warfare is not open-ended. I don’t think the people who are being labelled as urban Naxals have any direct links with the Maoists. They could be issue-based sympathisers. The government has coined this term to discredit the opposition to its labour policies.”
Bhagwat criticised
He also condemned Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks at the World Hindu Congress in Chicago.
Mr. Ambedkar confirmed that his party is in talks with Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen for a tie-up in the upcoming elections. “We have got their letter and they are ready for adjustments. There will be a coalition. But we have had no talks with Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party.”
