Sunidhi makes acting debut

Playing Priya , a short film by Arif Ali, marks singer Sunidhi Chauhan’s acting debut. Chauhan plays a restless housewife on the prowl when her husband and children go out of town.

In the movie, Chauhan has a striking screen presence and also gets to hum for a few seconds. However, the horror element in the film shows up only briefly in the end when Sunidhi jumps out of the closet. Before the audience get a chance to be shocked, the end credits begin, leaving viewers with a sense of disappointment.

The movie, in its few minutes of playing time, offers a warm overview of Chauhan’s acting skills. Playing a housewife alone at home, we see her indulging in guilty pleasures such a digging into a tempting chocolate cake and ignoring calls from her husband’s colleague.
