Officers of the Anti Human Trafficking Unit disguised as courier boys and census officers to rescue two minor girls from Bangladesh who were trafficked to Navi Mumbai for household work.
The minor girls, aged 15 and 17, from Tarapur village in Bangladesh were promised good jobs with handsome salaries by Joshim Sabur Mullah (25), a resident of their village. He brought them to Navi Mumbai in January this year.
Their parents registered a case of kidnapping with the Nodail Sadar Police Station in Bangladesh after their daughters went missing. Justice and Care, an NGO with branches in Bangladesh and Mumbai, began a search for the girls after they were informed of the incident.

Police Sub Inspector Sanjay Kshirsagar said, “We found that the girls were in the accused’s house in Turbhe. We disguised our officers as courier boys and census officers, raided the house and rescued the girls.”
