The municipality has decided to cut gas and electric supply to the illegal flats in the Campa Cola complex next Tuesday. The decision comes after the families living in them overstayed the Thursday deadline.
The owners wrote to the civic body setting conditions for their exit. They said they would leave only if the municipality agreed to meet their 14-point charter of demands.
The letter asks the Municipal Commissioner and the Chief Minister to give them an affidavit addressing the points raised by them.

A civic official said the municipality was likely to move the Supreme Court and file a contempt-of-court petition against the owners.
The owners demand the demolition of all other illegal constructions in the city and the rest of the State, and no regularisation by nefarious means.

The Campa Cola land should not be redeveloped without the consent of the displaced residents. After the demolition of the higher floors, the structure and stability of the remaining flats should be ensured. The families living in them should not be displaced even for a day.
The deadline to hand over the keys and possession of flats ended on Thursday evening. The families, however, showed no signs of leaving. “We will pitch our tents and live in the compound,” Sunanda Verma, one of the residents, said.
Last year, the Supreme Court ordered families occupying illegal flats to vacate the building by May 31. However, the residents approached the court seeking an extension.
The court dismissed their plea and the municipality gave them time till Thursday.
