He said the agriculture sector has suffered the most.
“Sugarcane is a major crop grown in Maharashtra in surplus. Yet, [sugar] is being imported from Pakistan in large quantities and the Indian farmers have been betrayed by the government. Further, 15 lakh jobs have been lost due to demonetisation, and till now, around 3.10 crore people are unemployed in India. The flawed GST, mismanagement of the banking system and the mistake of demonetisation have caused tremendous hardships to the people,” he said.
According to Mr. Singhvi, the government had promised huge investments in future projects, but projects worth around ₹13.5 crore have remained untouched.
“The ego-driven BJP government does not believe in the holistic progress of the country and is only here to satisfy its own greed,” the Congress spokesperson said.
