The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) has ordered Mumbai Police to register an FIR against actor Shah Rukh Khan, who allegedly used “filthy and abusive” language in presence of children during an altercation with the police at the Wankhede Stadium about three years ago.
The Commission has also ordered that an enquiry be initiated to find why an FIR was not registered in the first place even though a formal complaint was submitted along with audio-visual clips to substantiate the charges.
It is alleged that in May 2012, after an IPL match involving his franchise, the Kolkata Knight Riders, an inebriated Mr. Khan abused some Mumbai Cricket Association officials and even pushed an Assistant Commissioner of police.

At the time of the incident, several children, including his daughter were present at the stadium and purportedly witnessed it. In its order, the MSCPCR noted: “Using filthy and abusive language before the children shall cause mental suffering and also amounts to attack on honour of children. At the time of incident, Mr. Shahrukh Khan having actual charge and control over children accompanying him, exposed them which is likely to have caused mental suffering to the children.”
The Commission added that Mr. Khan’s action was a cognisable offence under Section 23 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
