Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court will frame charges against all accused in the Sheena Bora murder case on January 17. On Wednesday, Judge H.S. Mahajan heard arguments for framing of charges by lawyers of Indrani Mukerjea, prime accused in the case, her husband Peter and former husband Sanjeev Khanna.

Peter’s lawyer told the court that charges levelled against his client by the CBI have not been substantiated, while Indrani’s lawyer has said none of the charges against her can be proved. While making its arguments, CBI has claimed that a reason for Indrani allegedly killing Sheena is she didn’t want to share the Mukerjea property with her daughter. If Sheena, who was in a relationship with Peter’s son Rahul, married him, it could lead to a property dispute.

Driver Shyamvar Rai, who took Indrani on a recce for spots where Sheena’s body could be disposed of, turned approver after his arrest.

The first charge sheet by CBI was filed on November 19, 2015, and the supplementary charge sheet was filed on February 14, 2016 along with additional documents and statements of witnesses.

The partially-burnt body of Sheena Bora, 24, was found in the forests of Raigad district in April 2012. Indrani is lodged in Byculla jail while her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and Peter are in Arthur Road Jail.
