In two separate incidents, a 55-year-old man from Rabale MIDC and a 76-year-old from Diva village have been held for sexually abusing two minor girls.

On Friday, the Rabale MIDC police arrested Madan Paswan, a security guard at a factory in MIDC, for sodomising an 11-year-old minor girl. The victim, a Class IV student, stayed in a hutment area near the factory. “The residents of the area do not have washrooms and have been allowed by the management of the factory to use the washroom in its vicinity,” a police officer from Rabale MIDC police station said.
On Friday evening, the victim had gone to the washroom and the accused followed her. Mr. Paswan then dragged her aside and sodomised her. While he was leaving the washroom, the victim’s father went in to check on his daughter who had not come back home. “On seeing her father, the victim narrated the incident to him. Her father caught hold of the accused and registered a case with us,” the officer said.
In Diva village, Tulsidas Wakad, a 76-year-old retired man, was arrested by Rabale police on Saturday night for molesting his nine-year-old neighbour on May 14.

“The accused asked the girl about her marks and on the pretext of giving the victim a treat for scoring well, took her out of the society and molested her. The girl told her family, who did not initially believe her.
However, when she kept talking about the incident, they decided to check CCTV camerafootage and found what she had said to be true,” an officer from Rabale police station said.
