West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday discussed various issues of mutual interest with Bhutan’s Foreign Affairs Minister during her trip to the Himalayan nation.

“Bengal is the only Eastern State sharing contiguous border with Bhutan. We had a very useful discussion on various important issues common to Bhutan and Bengal. We reiterated our commitment towards continuance of our excellent relationship with Bhutan in line with our long, long tradition,” Ms. Banerjee said in a Facebook post about her meeting with Bhutan’s Minister for Foreign Affairs.

The Chief Minister said she was invited for a luncheon audience with His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyaplo and their Majesties the Queen Mothers at Dechenchholing Palace.
