The Teacher Eligibility Test examinations scheduled on Sunday (August 30) has been rescheduled over the mystery of missing bag of question papers putting in jeopardy the fate of over 22 lakh candidates.
The question papers went missing from a bus that was carrying to Hooghly district. Though TET exam was being conducted by the West Bengal Primary Education board services of Posts and Telegraph Department was hired for transporting question paper to various treasuries in the State. “Since the question papers have not been traced yet so we have decided to cancel the August 30 exam. It has now been rescheduled to October 4,” Education Minister Partha Chatterjee said.
The Minister criticised the Post and Telegraph department for the missing questions papers and has asked to start a legal action.

“At this point we do not know whether the question papers were lost in transit or something else had happened. Since this is a recruitment exam, so in no way can we go ahead and take it when there is a lack of transparency on what happened to the question papers. So we are cancelling the exam,” Mr. Chaterjee said.
Not only will the Board have to print fresh set of question papers the government will have to assign fresh examination centres to hold the examination in October.
