Hyundai Motor India Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited, donated a high-tech digital radiography system to Voluntary Health Services (VHS), Taramani, recently.
Digital X-ray sensors would be used and it is known to be cost effective, according to a press release. The average cost of an analogue X-ray comes to Rs. 450 but with this equipment, the test can be done for a nominal sum of Rs. 150 rupees, the release added.
Costing about Rs. 30 lakh, this machine would benefit around 96,000 people annually, the release added.

“Through our foundation, we touch the lives of as many people as we can and health care is one such area through which we support initiatives such as this which go a long way in transforming lives significantly,” said Mr. Stephen J Sudhakar, trustee HMIF, at the time of donation.
