Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader Vaiko on Friday said he had no faith that the Central government would exempt Tamil Nadu from NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).

Claiming that social justice had been denied on the NEET issue, Mr. Vaiko said the student community was yet to realise the disaster that would befall them if Tamil Nadu was not exempted from NEET.

In a brief interaction with reporters here, Mr. Vaiko said Tamil Nadu was the hub of medical education with best medical practitioners in the State having emerged after studying in the State board syllabus.

Mr. Vaiko was in the city to take part in the party’s women’s wing State and district level members meeting presided over by the MDMK women’s wing State secretary Rohaiah Sheikh Mohamed. The MDMK leader declined to comment on the developments taking place in the AIADMK stating that it was an internal affair of that party.
