May 29, 2018 01:05 am | Updated 01:05 am IST - Chennai

MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Monday lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner that miscreants were spreading false news on social media about him and a few others that they were among the beneficiaries of Sterlite.

In his complaint, Mr. Vaiko said that pictures with logos of popular television channels were being posted online to make it appear as if the channels had telecast the news. He said the channels had told him that they did not telecast any such news.

Mr. Vaiko mentioned his long struggle against Sterlite from 1994. He said the posts were made with an intention to bring bad reputation to him.
