Udyog Utsav 2018, being organised for girl students of 100 Corporation schools across the city on January 27, offers what is called “career visioning”.
The event is being organised by Avtar Human Capital Trust, a voluntary organisation working in the field of economic empowerment of women, in partnership with Meera, which is part of CavinKare Pvt. Ltd.
Students of these Corporation schools who are part of the Trust’s flagship project called Puthri will attend this job fair, which will guide them to educational opportunities and the things to do while pursuing a particular career. Internship options will be made known to them.

One thousand students are expected to participate in this event; they will be accompanied by their teachers and mentors.
Representatives of many institutions and organisations will take part in the one-day event.
“Project Puthri is India’s first developmental initiative that is structured to create career intentionality among girls studying in Classes 8 to 12 at Corporation and government schools. Intentionality lays the foundation for a sustainable career and we strongly believe that this begins at a grassroots level. We are at a significant juncture in our journey of enlightening girl children about career intentionality. UdyogUtsav 2018 will be a milestone in guiding these young women to be more intentional towards building a sustainable career,” says Saundarya Rajesh, founder president of AVTAR Group.

How you can help
Avtar Human Capital Trust invites corporates, professionals and educational institutions to share their time, knowledge and skills with these students. According to the organisers, corporates and institutions can conduct workshops to educate Puthri scholar-students on courses and careers opportunities.
Udyog Utsav will feature kiosks put up by organisations like CavinKare’s Meera, Deloitte, Dow Chemicals, Naturals, TAFE and ITC. The idea is to present what various industries have to offer.
Experts will help students identify their academic interests and skills, in addition to providing a strength-weakness analysis. The event will also feature interactive knowledge-sharing sessions that will redefine the intelligence and emotional quotients of young girls, with the aim of boosting their self-confidence.
“The idea is to ensure that girls break away from poverty, complete their education and build careers,” adds Saundarya.
