It has been over a year since the traffic signal at the intersection of 100-Feet Road and Pammal Nallathambi Street at Thanthai Periyar Nagar in Taramani went out of order.

It’s yet to be repaired.

“Motorists coming from Velachery, Rajiv Gandhi Salai, Taramani and Thiruvanmiyur pass through this junction. They do not bother to slow down at the intersection and this results in traffic chaos during rush hour,” says K. Suresh Babu, a resident of Taramani.

Pedestrians also find it difficult to cross the intersection.

“We have to dart across, as motorists come at break-neck speed and don’t slow down for us,” says G. Theyagarajan, another resident of Taramani.

The Chennai Traffic Police officials have promised to do the needful.
