Three techies from Chennai drown off Goa beach

Three IT professionals from Chennai, on picnic in Goa, drowned in the sea off Morjim beach, said officials on Monday. They were part of a group of five men who were found gesturing for help on Saturday, when the rescue operation began at 6.50 p.m., said a Life Guard Services official. “Three of them were rescued immediately but one of them died in hospital later. Two others went missing and their bodies surfaced after some time,” he said.

The deceased were identified ad Gopalkrishna C.K. (24), Navin Bhalla (24) and Shravan Reddy (29).

Gautam Kumar, who was one among the rescued, said all of them belonged to Andhra Pradesh and were employed with different IT companies in Chennai.
