Traffic police have made a few changes in the flow of traffic at Thiruvanmiyur Junction as a temporary step to ease the bottleneck during rush hour. The changes will come into force from the forenoon on Saturday and will remain till Wednesday on experimental basis.

According to a press release, the stretch along L.B. Road, from Thiruvanmiyur junction up to 3rd main road, will be made one way with entry from 3rd Main Road - L.B. junction and with no entry from Thiruvanmiyur junction.

Vehicles coming from Adyar intending to go towards SRP tools must take a left turn at Thiruvanmiyur junction and take the route via Thiruvalluvar Salai – South Avenue and turn right towards 3rd Main Road or 4th Main Road – L.B. Road.
The 4th Main road will be made one way with entry from South Avenue and no-entry from L.B. Road.
The stretch of road on South Avenue from 22nd Cross Street up to Thiruvalluvar Salai will be made one way with entry from Thiruvalluvar Salai and no-entry from 22nd Cross Street.

Vehicles coming from East Coast Road into 22nd Cross Street should take a left turn at South Avenue and take the route via 4th Main Road and turn right to L.B. Road - Thiruvanmiyur signal.
MTC buses coming from Thiruvanmiyur depot and proceeding straight towards Thiruvanmiyur signal will be restricted.
The buses should take left turn at South Avenue, take the route via 4th Main Road and turn right into L.B. Road to reach Thiruvanmiyur Signal.
The continuation of the traffic arrangement will depend on the success in reducing traffic congestion in the area, the release said.
