Singapore team to share medical expertise

A team of experts from Singapore is here to visit the welfare centres.

Health Minister C. Vijaya Baskar, who chaired the meeting, explained the various schemes the government had launched to reduce maternal, neonatal and infant mortality at the meeting held on Monday here.

Agreement reached

Health department sources said an agreement was reached between the visiting team and the State Health Department on sharing expertise and experiences in various health-related schemes.

The visiting seven-member team was led by Singapore consul-general Roy Kho.

The team visited general hospitals in Tiruchi and Srirangam.

According to the sources the aim of the visit was to collaborate with developed countries to further improve the maternal and child care. .

Health Secretary J. Radhakrishnan, Mission Director of State Rural Health Mission C.N. Maheswaran, Director of Medical Services A. Chandranathan and Director of Public Health K. Kolandaisamy, participated.
