Shrishti schools celebrates silver jubilee in Vellore

Pep talk by prominent personalities of the town, cultural events by students and honouring of teachers and staff, who were working since the institution was formed, marked the silver jubilee celebrations of Shrishti schools in Vellore on Wednesday.

The Shrishti schools, which is a group of three schools, began in 1997 with 232 students and a handful of teachers. Twenty-five years later, the school has over 3,000 pupils with around 380 teachers in its fold, a press release said. A celebration for this kind of development is needed, said M. Makhija, Chairperson of Makhija Foundation.

The celebration began with lighting of lamps at the auditorium of the campus near Katpadi. Collector P. Kumaravel Pandian, Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Rajesh Kannan and G.V. Selvam, vice president, VIT (Vellore), shared their thoughts with the students.

Six teachers and staff, including two gardeners, who were serving the institution since its inception, were honoured. Students performed cultural events.

On the occasion, Commodore H.G. Harsha, Chairman-SSRVM Trust and Trustee, Makhija Foundation (Vellore), Ms. Anmole Sanjay Makhija, Makhija Foundation, M.S. Saravanan, Head of Shrishti Schools and Mr. Thingal Johnson, Principal, Shrishti Matriculation school, participated, the release said.
