Mylapore police on Friday arrested the political PA and official driver of Revenue Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan on charges, including criminal intimidation and trespassing.

Joint Commissioner of Police (East) S.N. Seshasai said the Minister's PA, Arumugam (38), and driver Rajasekar (40), on Wednesday night trespassed into the house of Sasikala on Appu Street, Mylapore, and threatened her. Sasikala had rented out a house next to her home to Arumugam.

“The men, who were in an inebriated state, barged into the house and damaged some furniture in the house. They warned Sasikala and her mother of dire consequences and left,” Mr. Seshasai said.

Mylapore police sources said the incident occurred after Sasikala repeatedly asked Arumugam to vacate the house as he had not paid rent for the last few months.

Following a complaint lodged by Sasikala on Friday morning, the Mylapore police have registered a case under Sections including 294 B (obscene words), 452 (house trespass after preparation for hurt) and 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) against Arumugam and Rajasekar.
