Those who follow Indian Idol Junior on Sony Entertainment Television know that Chennai girl Nithyashree V. is one contestant to look out for.
Right from the auditions, she has won the hearts of not just the audience but also the judges — Vishal Dadlani, Salim Merchant and actor Sonakshi Sinha. A Class XII student of SBOA School and Junior College (CBSE), here, Nithyashree also has her entire school backing her.
In fact, they have taken it upon themselves to get her the votes.

According to the show format, a total of judges’ points and audience vote decide the fate of a contestant, where the lowest scorer is eliminated.
Promotional strategy
“The school secretary and correspondent, Thomas Franco Rajendra Dev, came up with a strategy to promote our student, considering she is the only contestant from Tamil Nadu to have made it so far on the show,” says Radhika Unni, Principal of the school.

The show is aired on Saturday and Sunday, and the contestants make a vote appeal on Saturday.
The voting lines are open between 8.30 p.m. on Saturday to 8 a.m. on Sunday. “We have a team that sends an SMS with voting details to all the parents of SBOA students across the country, every Friday.
An email is also sent to all the members of the State Bank of India Officers Association, urging them to vote for her.
Her supporters are also using the social media to promote her.
Nithyashree had proved her mettle even before. She was a contestant in Airtel Super Singer. “To make sure her studies are not affected; we email all the notes to her father, who is in Chennai. Once she is back, we will organise special classes for her to help her catch up with the syllabus. We did the same when she was busy with reality shows earlier,” says Ms. Radhika says.
