Rs. 7.40 crore in cash, liquor bottles seized

Random vehicle checks by the officials of the Election Commission has led to the seizure of ganja, Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL)bottles and foreign currencies, besides cash to the tune of Rs. 7.40 crore between March 4 and 13, an official release stated.

73 FIRs registered

A total of 73 First Information Report (FIRs) have also been registered against individuals. Since the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force in the State on March 4, the Chief Electoral Officer has advised the general public to carry relevant documents, while carrying cash or gift items with them.
