Abdul Jaffer, a resident of Mannady, sent his brother Syed to purchase a packet of bread on Friday. “He got it from a bakery in the locality. On Saturday morning, we found a burnt lizard when we started toasting it. Immediately we took it to the bakery,” said Jaffer.

The bakery owner allegedly called the officials of the bread company. “Since they did not turn up, I lodged a complaint with the police station.
