Ram Jethmalani visits Chennai police commissioner

Senior advocate and Member of Parliament, Ram Jethmalani visited the police commissioner’s office here on Friday, stating that he was conducting a study on police reforms throughout the country. However, city police said he approached the commissioner on personal grounds.

The former BJP leader, who has held the post of Union law minister, went to the Commissionerate around noon. “He met the police commissioner regarding a complaint on behalf of his subordinate who accompanied him during the visit. It was a purely personal visit,” said a senior officer.

Addressing media persons on his way out of the office, Mr. Jethmalani said he has undertaken a study on police stations across the country. “I have been visiting police stations as part of a study on police reforms,” he said.
