Muslim outfits call for justice

Tight vigil was maintained at bus stands, railway stations and places of worship.

Muslim outfits held demonstrations on Thursday condemning Babri Masjid demolition and demanding justice.

On the anniversary of demolition on Thursday, the Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) held a demonstration at Valluvarkottam. Along with the leaders of TMMK, CPI State secretary R. Mutharasan and Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi leader T.Velmurugan participated in the protest to express solidarity.

Similarly, cadre of Jananayaga Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam held an agitation near Periamedu Mosque demanding punishment for the culprits who demolished the mosque. They also demanded the Supreme Court to deliver its judgment. They were prevented from taking out a procession towards Central Railway station.

The members of Indian Thowheed Jamath organised a demonstration in front of State guest house demanding the Babri Masjid be built in the same place.

Tight vigil was maintained at bus stands, airports, railway stations, places of worship and other vital installations to prevent untoward incidents. Police personnel conducted preventive checks on moving vehicles, lodges and frisked people at bus stands, railway stations and cinema halls.
