By Pongal, petrol bunks will function from the outer premises of four prisons in the State. The Central Prison in Puzhal will have one by the month-end.

The petrol outlets will have digital payment facilities, ATMs and a prison bazaar. The prisoners would receive a monthly salary of ₹7,000 to ₹10,000, he said.
